What this film shows

A tradesperson records work against a selected project and location for the current week.  The entry appears in the weekly summary and a weekly invoice is generated.  An administrator then exports the selected week and reviews the project and user-management controls.

The problem

Weekly site records often live in messages, notebooks or memory. That makes the supporting invoice and the later export harder than they should be, and leaves administrators reconstructing the week after the fact. Off-the-shelf options didn't fit how the business operated and became expensive through per-user charges.

Who uses it

Tradespeople need a current-week form they can complete on a phone.  Administrators need a controlled export and straightforward user and project management without re-entering the same work.

The flow

  1. A tradesperson opens a mobile-first form fixed to the current working week.
  2. They select the project and location, describe the work and enter its value.
  3. The entry appears in the weekly summary and a weekly invoice is generated.
  4. An administrator exports the selected week as a structured spreadsheet.
  5. Projects and users are maintained through simple back-office controls.

Design choices

SiteLog is a deliberately simple mobile-first web application for tradespeople.  Administration stays separate rather than loading office controls onto the site form.

Related systems

SiteLog first fed existing cost-control and payment processes. BudgetFlow later extended the workflow: a weekly scheduled API extraction brings SiteLog records into BudgetFlow, where managers allocate costs. A BudgetFlow export is produced at a set point each week for import into the existing accounting software.
